Design Concept

This is one of a series of quilts, exploring the illusion of overlapping transparent triangles. Three triangles were created by piecing strips of fabric that were hand dyed in gradations of rainbow colors. The fourth set of triangles are the same fabric as the border, which is an Ombre Stripe from Caryl's fabric collection for Benartex. In contrast to the geometry of the pieced quilt top, all of the quilting is done in swirling, free-motion, organic patterns.
