Design
Concept
This quilt was one of my first experiments with printing fabric on an ink jet printer. The photo of the parrot was taken at Karanda, Queensland on one of my teaching tours of Australia. I printed the photo on fabric that had been soaked in Bubble Jet Set, to make the ink permanent. I painted the border fabric with fiber reactive dye. With the quilting, I extended the lines from the photograph into the border. |
