Design Concept

This quilt began as an abstract view of a forest with light filtering through the trees. Since the original blocks were not saying what I wanted them to say, I sliced them up into rectangles and pieced them into windows. The borders of the windows are pieced from folded strips of fabric in many different shades of brown. The dark brown lattice is heavily machine quilted in a wood grain pattern.
