| After 37 years of nearly full-time
travel I am growing some roots in a real community, and
have created a studio and workshop center in the award-winning,
historic, LowerTown Arts District of Paducah
Kentucky. Quilting and
design workshops at the Bryerpatch
Studio began in June
2008 and we will announce new workshops as they are scheduled.

Class
hours:
9 am - 3:30 pm daily with ½ hour lunch break. (Those
who need to fly out of Paducah on the last day of the
workshop will be able to make the last daily flight out
of Barkley Regional Airport)
Tuition and Registration
Policies:
Workshop Fees:
~ Three-day workshop: $330.00
Workshop fee includes six hours per day of instruction
with Caryl Bryer Fallert and a catered lunch served in
Caryl's kitchen. Accommodations are not included in the
workshop fee.
~ Cancellation Policy:
We encourage the purchase of Cancellation and Travel Insurance,
usually available through your travel agent.
NOTE: Refunds will not be available for the June
and July 2008 workshops.
For future workshops, if you need to cancel your reservation
the following charges will apply:
~ 120 days or more $ 50.00
~ 119 - 91 days $100.00
~ 90 - 61 days $200.00
~ 60 - 0 days No Refunds
If the workshop is filled, you may transfer your reservation
to another person.
Facilities:
Bryerpatch Studio is a smoke-free and perfume-free facility.
Please be considerate of classmates who may be sensitive
and leave perfumes or other scented toiletries at home.
We are fully wheel-chair accessible. You can park within
a few feet of our doors to unload and roll you machines
and supplies into the classroom. Our 900 square foot classroom
has full spectrum lighting and is wired to handle irons
and sewing machines. Each student will have a 2 x 4 foot
table and easy access to large cutting and ironing boards
in the classroom. Extra space for cutting and drawing
is also available in our dye studio/classroom annex. Irons
and cutting boards will be provided, so you don't need
to bring your own.
Sewing machines:
A limited number of Bernina sewing machines will be available
on a first come first served basis for participants who
cannot fly with their own machines. Rental fee is $10.00
per day. If you drive, we recommend that you bring your
own machine. If you need to rent a machine, please let
us know ahead of time so we can reserve one for you.

Paducah is within a one day drive of one third of the
population of the United States.

Closest airport - Paducah's Barkley Regional Airport (PAH)

Alternate airport - Nashville (BNA) (2½ hours by
rental car)
Food:
Breakfast: Etcetera
Coffee House (2½ blocks away) is open at 8am
every day for muffins, cereal and yougurt, bagels etc.
If you are a bacon and eggs type, the Gold Rush Café
at 400 Broadway (5 blocks) serves traditional breakfast
fare every day. The usual mall-hugging franchise restaurants
are ten minutes or less by car.
Lunch:
A catered lunch will be provided each day a few feet from
the classroom in Caryl's
kitchen.
Dinner: We have many good (non-franchise) restaurants
within walking distance in downtown Paducah. We also have
every franchise restaurant on the planet 5 miles away
by Hancocks
of Paducah and I-24 exit #4.

Local Culture:
We make every effort to schedule our workshops
to coincide with other events or workshops in Paducah
that you may want to enjoy while you are here.
~ The June workshops are held on either side of
our LowerTown Arts District's traditional "Second
Saturday" when all of the galleries are open from
noon until 8 pm. Come for either workshop (or both) and
experience the ambiance of our local culture while you
are here.
~ The July workshop is immediately after Ruth McDowell's
workshop at the National
Quilt Museum (four blocks away), so if you are coming
for one workshop, you may want to consider attending both.
Other Stuff to do while you are here:
~ Fabric shopping: We have three quilt shops within walking
distance of the studio, and Hancocks of Paducah is 10
minutes away by car (4.5 miles)
~ Other shopping: Downtown Paducah is full of charming
antique shops, boutiques and craft galleries.
~ Take in the art scene in the Historic
LowerTown Arts District.
~ Watch an independent film at Maiden
Alley Cinema.
~ Enjoy a concert or Broadway show at the Carson
Four Rivers Performing Arts Center.
~ Visit the National
Quilt Museum (4 blocks from Bryerpatch Studio).
~ Enjoy the beauty of nature at Land
Between the Lakes.

Quilting
Lectures and Workshops
by Caryl Bryer Fallert
If you would
like to bring your group to Paducah for a special class
or retreat, we will be happy to schedule a workshop
or lecture of your choice. The workshop base fee
for groups of eight or less is $800.00 per day plus
$10.00 per student for lunch. For groups of eight or
more, the base fee is $110.00 per day (including lunch).
Kit or materials fees apply to a few of our workshops,
and are not included in the base fee. Check the individual
class listing for materials fee information. Lecture
only fee is $500.00.
