High Tech Tucks

Learn to make three dimensional tucks in graduated colors like the ones in Caryl's High Tech Tucks series. They're fun, fast, easy, and everyone loves them. In the class, we will construct an 18" high by 24" wide center rectangle of tucks. You can add a simple black border, or a wider border of your choice. Once you learn the basic technique, you can make your own variations in different colors and sizes. This is an easy one-day project.

Supplies Needed:

• Fabric:
  • A complete kit will be provided for $30.00
• Sewing Machine:
  • One that is friendly and well adjusted. (Zigzag will be useful, but not absolutely essential)
  • If you own a walking foot or "even feed" foot, please bring it with you.
• Other
  • Thread: black and medium gray or other neutral (cotton, polyester, or cotton/poly)
  • Iron (Preferably with steam- may be shared with 2-3 others)
  • Table Top Ironing Pad
  • Scissors (for paper and fabric)
  • Rotary cutter, board, and 24" ruler (Large, rotary mat with grid is preferred)
  • Long, heavy-duty extension cord with at least two outlets.
  • Pencil
  • Litter bag

  
  Classroom requirements:
  A digital program will be used in this class, so a screen and the ability to see digital images in the classroom will be important.
