"FLYING
GEESE" IN A CURVE
Three hour class
all levels

Classroom Requirements
Learn to piece perfect "Flying Geese" in a curve, like
the ones in Caryl's 1995 Best of Show quilt Migration #2. The class
project will be an eight to twelve inch square practice block. A
pattern will be provided. You will also learn to draft your own
variations on this pattern. Kits of graduated fabric will be available
for sale in the class, or the block can be pieced in a limited range
of colors with fabrics brought from home. A sewing machine and iron
will be required.

GRADUATED
CROWN OF THORNS
and Other Spiky Things
Three hour class all levels

Requirements
Learn to draw and piecing a perfect "Crown of Thorns"
block or spiky things in any curve. The class project will be an
eight to twelve inch practice block. You will also learn to draft
your own original variations on this traditional design. Emphasis
will be on using color to dazzle the eye as well as foundation and
curved piecing techniques.. Kits of graduated fabric will be available
for sale in the class, or the block can be pieced in a limited range
of colors with fabrics brought from home. A sewing machine and iron
will be required.

INTRODUCTION
TO MACHINE QUILTING
Two-three hour lecture / demonstration
all levels

Requirements
In this slide lecture and demonstration, Caryl shares her secrets
for managing the quilt sandwich, and controlling the stitches, as
well as her techniques for developing designs. She will also share
slides of the work of several other successful machine quilters.
This is a chance to get your questions about machine quilting answered.
Not a hands on class.

SPINNING
HEXAGONS
Three hour class all levels

Classroom Requirements
Learn the secret of piecing log cabin hexagons with a spin, like
the ones in Caryl's "REFRACTION" series. The class project
will be an eight to twelve inch practice block. This project works
best with two or more sets of graduated colors, however, a practice
block can be pieced in a limited range of colors with fabrics brought
from home. Kits of graduated fabric will be available for sale in
the class. A sewing machine and iron will be required.
