Professionalism
The focus in this class will be on the practical
aspects of making a living as a professional quilt maker. Discussion
topics will include: Resumes and artist statements, photography,
portfolio presentation, exhibit opportunities, galleries, commissions,
publishing, organization, teaching opportunities, and more. In addition
to presentations by the workshop leader, the class will include
group discussions in which students will be expected to share some
of their personal experiences. There will be an opportunity for
feedback on the presentation materials you are currently using,
and the chance to make changes.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Notebook

Bring your resume. If you don't have one, yet,
bring a one page (or less) biography, written in the third person,
and a short personal statement about your quilts.

Bring any other current presentation materials
that you are using, i.e. stationary, business cards, photos,
slides, postcards, publications, portfolio, etc.

Bring a list of suppliers and services that
have worked for you, to share with the class.
Classroom Requirements
- I will be doing digital presentations, we need to be
able to dim the lights.
- Projector stand and small table for computer.
- Screen or white wall for projecting images.
- Please set up tables in a "U" or square, so everyone
in the workshop can see each other.
